This Privacy Policy explains how Paintaire ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit our website or use related contractor software, including Wooster Truck Inventory. By using this site or the app, you agree to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Newsletter subscriptions: when you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address so we can send you updates through our email provider. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us.
• Contact form: when you contact us, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message so we can respond to your inquiry.
• Quote and walkthrough requests: when you use /find-a-painteror /for-painters, we collect what you enter — such as your name, email address, phone number, ZIP/postcode, and project or company details — so we can connect you with a contractor or arrange a walkthrough. Homeowner requests are shared with one vetted painting contractor so they can quote the job.
• Wooster Truck Inventory: authorized contractor staff may enter an API key on their device. When they connect QuickBooks Online, we store OAuth access and refresh tokens, realm ID, and token expiry on our API host. Draft orders (catalog numbers, quantities, notes) are stored so we can create purchase orders in the connected company.

Information collected automatically

• Theme preference: we store your light/dark mode preference in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
• Cookies: we may use essential cookies required for the site to function. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How We Use Your Information

• To send newsletter emails you have opted into
• To respond to messages sent through our contact form
• To handle quote and walkthrough requests: we store the submission in our customer-relationship system and, for homeowner quote requests, share it with one painting contractor so they can quote the job
• To remember your display preferences (such as dark mode)
• To maintain and improve the site
• For Wooster Truck Inventory: to authenticate the app, match Wooster catalog items, create and email purchase orders, and keep the QuickBooks connection working

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, which may process data according to their own privacy policies:

• CRM: quote, walkthrough, and contact form submissions are forwarded to our customer-relationship system so we can store the lead and, for homeowner quotes, route it to one contractor. The contractor who receives a quote request is a recipient of that request, not a buyer of your information. Newsletter signups are not sent to the CRM.
• Resend: newsletter subscriptions are stored as contacts in Resend and we send a confirmation email from that service. Resend also handles later newsletter broadcasts and unsubscribe requests.
• Giscus / GitHub: blog comments, when enabled, are powered by Giscus, which uses GitHub Discussions. Commenting requires a GitHub account, and your comment data is processed by GitHub. Comments are off unless this deployment is configured for them.
• YouTube: some posts embed YouTube videos. Loading an embedded video may allow Google to collect data about your visit as described in Google's privacy policy.
• Sentry: we use Sentry for error and performance monitoring on this site, in production only. When an error occurs, Sentry may process technical data such as your IP address, browser user-agent, and the page URL. Session replay is disabled.
• Intuit / QuickBooks Online: if you connect a company in Wooster Truck Inventory, we send purchase-order data to that company using Intuit’s APIs. Intuit processes that data under its own terms.
• Cloudflare: the Wooster Truck Inventory API and database run on Cloudflare Workers and D1.

Data Retention

We retain newsletter subscriber information until you unsubscribe. Contact, quote, and walkthrough submissions are kept as long as needed to handle the enquiry and any resulting job. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter) at any time

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
